And to everyone who has chosen Royal Steamline to be a part of their wedding, our heartfelt thanks!

By now, the term “Vintage Modern” has become something of a punchline in the wedding community. However, we feel it actually fits our new series of invitations: 303, 505, 707, 808 and 909. Alternately evoking Bauhaus angularity and early 1980s album covers, this new series looks equally at home in warm meadows and cool, marbled halls.

Be sure to click on the images to see the full suites for each style!

…and here’s a bit of musical accompaniment for this series. (We listened to this album a lot while designing these styles!) Enjoy!

The Mid-Summer Sale is here! (Cue the trumpet fanfare.)

All week long, we’ll be announcing discounts on Royal Steamline goods, starting with Save-the-Dates!

All Save-the-Dates are 10% off during the month of July.

We’ll be announcing more sales in the coming days. Stay tuned!

Today we set sail on the SS Escher with Ship to Shore.

Today we introduce a new invitation design that we’re very excited about: Sunday in Caligo

Sunday in Caligo

Like storm clouds surrounding a rainbow, Sunday in Caligo manages to be both dark and bright at the same time.

Sunday in Caligo

With Sunday in Caligo, you have the option of including a passage of text, quote or poem on the reverse of the invitation. In the example above, we created a passage that is an homage to the opening soliloquies of the original Dark Shadows episodes (that partially inspired the look of this design). See the whole suite here!

Just wanted to spread the word about our new invitation design that pays homage to an era of soft glamour, an age filled with Living Strings, evening gloves and Chiffon:

Recalling old Hollywood and the fashion salons of Paris circa ’51, Chiffon is perfect for those couples searching for early Mid-Century cool.

And we just have to say that this design would look just grand on our 120lb iridescent pearl linen paper! See the whole suite here.

Enamored with the avant-garde designs of St. Pucci.

In love with the latest men’s collection from Dolce & Gabbana.

The designers doff their caps to newsboys & Victorian doctors, as well as one familiar character…

Revolutionary Girl Utena. We will wisely avoid to attempt any sort of explanation or interpretation of this fascinating series. (However, we would encourage you to learn more here if you are unfamiliar and interested in manga/anime that explore traditional hero journeys through the lens of pseudo-Jungian surrealism.)

Instead, we wanted to share a few images that adorn its DVD covers. We love the silhouette style, use of symbolic color and pattern, and immediacy of these images.
